Hey, I'm Phe

Introduction to Development
At the same time, I was working in my third systems administrator position, looking after 80 - 100 users with various Linux and Windows servers. After a good few years, I'd had enough. There's only so many times you can replace a printer, fix an issue with an accounting system or explain to someone that your password needs to be more than "password" (or that you need a password in the first place).
Eventually, it became obvious that no one cares when things work — but when they don’t, you’re public enemy number one. And there's only so long you can put up with that for.

Career Change
WordPress Developer
I was there for a couple of years, but I needed something more. I wanted to learn new things and keep myself busy, not rely on someone else to fill my schedule (and leave gaps in it if there wasn't enough work).

Working for Myself
I applied for a job at Soflyy and started supporting users of WP All Import and WP All Export. Within a year, I was poached by the Oxygen team, where I’ve been ever since. Now I split my support time between Oxygen and Breakdance, handling support, testing, bug reports, documentation, and fixing some issues in GitHub. I’ve been with both builders since their early days — and I still love how much power and flexibility they give to developers. They are both incredible tools and they've revolutionised how sites are built.
I've also been running WinuSoft since 2010. We work directly with businesses and agencies to build custom, responsive WordPress websites using Oxygen or Breakdance (and occasionally, some WordPress themes if required by the client... but don't tell anyone).
Alongside building websites, I’ve always been passionate about clear communication — whether that’s answering support tickets, writing documentation, or just making sure clients feel heard. I also really enjoy writing clean, maintainable code, and finding smart solutions to annoying problems.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time outdoors — usually in a forest somewhere, riding mountain bikes with my husband or going up and down hills for fun. I’m a qualified plant-based nutritionist and run a second business, Eat More Plants, where I help people fuel their lives and adventures through good food. I’ve been studying nutrition since 2013 and I’m living proof that what you eat can change your life.
I love learning new things and always have some sort of nutrition text book or course on the go.
